Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 22, 2026 | Last Updated: May 22, 2026

Welcome to BrahmacharyaGuard (also referred to as GaurangaShield). We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing powerful digital discipline tools to help monitor and protect user devices from distractions and inappropriate content.

This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application (“App”) and the associated administrative web console (“Console”) collect, use, store, and safeguard your information.

1. Use of High-Risk & Sensitive Permissions

To provide self-discipline controls, site blocking, and anti-circumvention protection, BrahmacharyaGuard requires specific high-risk system permissions. We only use these permissions to execute the core safety features of the application, and we never use them to silently collect or share private user communications.

Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)

Why we use it: Our App uses the Accessibility Service API to detect when restricted or distracting apps (as specified by your administrator or self-defined limits) are opened. When a violation is detected, it blocks the screen and presents an intervention overlay.

Data Handling: The Accessibility Service only monitors application package launches in real-time. It does NOT capture screen content, keystrokes, personal credentials, or send any sensitive on-screen inputs to our servers.

Device Administrator (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN)

Why we use it: Enforced to prevent unauthorized, accidental, or impulsive uninstallation of the guardian service. This ensures the protection and accountability agreements remain active.

Data Handling: We only use this permission to disable app removal. No other administrator operations are performed.

Query All Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)

Why we use it: Retrieves the list of installed applications on your device to display them in the settings console, allowing the administrator to choose which apps to block or put under a daily time limit.

2. Information Collection and Storage

To provide tracking dashboards, statistics, and accountability logs, the app sends the following telemetry data to our secure servers:

  • Activity Logs: When an app is opened, a website is visited, or a blocked domain is intercepted, a log entry containing the timestamp, package name/URL, and action type is saved.
  • Precise Location: Coordinates (Latitude and Longitude) transmitted from the device to allow your designated administrator or guardian to view the device's real-time hardware location for accountability.
  • Device Metadata: Brand, model, and OS version to verify active synchronization.
  • Profile Details: The name/email linked to your device as registered by your Temple Administrator.

3. Third-Party Sharing & Data Protection

We have a zero-sharing policy.

  • We do NOT sell, lease, or distribute your logs, web history, or package list to any advertising agencies, brokers, or marketing networks.
  • All data is stored in secure, private database nodes controlled by our developer team.
  • Data transmission is fully encrypted over HTTPS (SSL).

4. Data Control & Deletion Request

As a user, you have full visibility of the logs collected. You can review this data on your personal console dashboard at any time.

If you wish to request deletion of your account, device registration, or historical activity logs, please contact your designated temple administrator or email us directly at:
